ABOUT ME

My name is Bri and I have been passionately involved in the  beauty industry for nearly two decades. I started as an Esthetician and massage therapist in Southern California before moving to New York City where I completed my eyelash extensions training at JJ Eyelash Academy. My work includes providing  lash extensions for the Rockettes and Broadway performers for 6 years. Being a California girl at heart, I was brought back to the west coast where I expanded my expertise with permanent makeup such as Microblading,  lash enhancement permanent eyeliner and lip blush. I have been working in Orange County at Cristophe Salon in Fashion Island and at Salon at the Coast in the Crystal Cove Plaza for the last 7 years but am looking forward to calling Carlsbad my forever home.

FAQ

Answers to Your Beauty Questions

  • What is lip blush?
Lip blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that enhances the natural color, shape, and definition of the lips, giving them a more youthful and fuller appearance.
  • How long does lip blush last?
The results typically last 2-3 years, but longevity depends on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Touch-ups may be needed every 12-18 months to maintain the color.
  • Does lip blush hurt?
A numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to reduce discomfort. Clients often describe the sensation as mild scratching or tingling rather than pain.
  • Who is a good candidate for lip blush?
Lip blush works well for people with pale, uneven, or fading natural lip color. However, it may not be suitable for those with active cold sores, certain skin conditions, or specific medical conditions.
  • What does the healing process look like?
The healing process takes about 5-10 days. During this time, the lips may scab, flake, and appear darker before settling into the final, lighter shade. Full results are visible after about 4-6 weeks.
  • What aftercare is required for lip blush?
Keep the lips clean and apply any aftercare ointment as instructed. Avoid excessive sun exposure, swimming, and makeup on the lips during healing. Refrain from picking or peeling the scabs to prevent uneven healing or pigment loss.
  • How do I prepare for my lip blush appointment?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications 24 hours before your session. Exfoliate your lips gently at least 5 days before the appointment to ensure a smooth surface. If you are prone to cold sores you need to take an antiviral medication at least three days before your appointment and two days after.
  • Is lip blush the same as a lip tattoo?
Lip blush is a softer, more natural-looking version of traditional lip tattooing. It uses modern techniques and pigments designed to fade over time, unlike permanent tattoos, which often look bolder and less natural.
  • Can I still wear lipstick after lip blush?
Yes, you can wear lipstick over lip blush once the lips are fully healed. The treatment enhances the natural base color but doesn’t prevent the use of additional makeup.
  • What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure that enhances the appearance of eyebrows by using a handheld tool to create hair-like strokes with pigment deposited into the skin.
  • How long does microblading last?
Results typically last 1-2 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Touch-ups are usually recommended to maintain the desired look.
  • Is microblading painful?
I use a numbing cream to minimize discomfort. Clients often describe the sensation as a slight scratching or discomfort rather than pain.
  • What should I do for aftercare?
Avoid water, sweating, and makeup on the brows for 7-10 days and applying aftercare ointment as directed.
  • How do I prepare for a microblading appointment?
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, blood-thinning medications, and retinol 24-48 hours before your appointment. Avoid tweezing, waxing, or threading the brows beforehand.
  • What is the difference between microblading and eyebrow tattooing?
Microblading creates more natural, hair-like strokes and is semi-permanent, whereas traditional tattooing is permanent and often results in a solid, block-like appearance.
  • Who is a good candidate for microblading?
Microblading is ideal for people with sparse, thin, or uneven eyebrows. It may not be suitable for those with certain skin conditions, very oily skin, or a history of keloid scarring.
  • What’s the healing process like?
The healing process takes about 5-10 days. During this time, the brows may appear darker, scab, and lighten as they heal. Full results are visible after 4-6 weeks.
